SPIRITUALITY AND WELFARE.

 

PREFACE

Welfare Committees at all levels in the Order must be able to offer active support through its knowledge of various benevolent funds available, in the Order and benefits available via the State system, to the Brother or his dependents.

MISSION STATEMENT.

We wish to see a fully active and effective Welfare Committee dealing with our Brothers’ needs and those of his dependents in the true spirit of Charity and Fraternally and to achieve e this through prayer and Unity pof purpose.

 

BOARD WELFARE COMMITTEE.

The Committee is composed of the Supreme Director of Spirituality and Welfare, who is the chairman and who is elected annually by Supreme Council, and a Director appointed by the bSupreme Knight. The Supreme Knight also, on the advice of the Supreme Director of Spirituality and Welfare, appoints other members, from any level of the Order, who has expertise in this field of work.

WELFARE PRINCIPLE.

It should be noted that the Rules of the Order prevents the payment of giants being withheld solely by reason of a Council’s suspension.

 

Monetary assistance will always be determined by the rules of the availability of funds.

Financial assistance should be given first at Council level and then at Provincial level before appeals are made to the Central

Benevolent Fund.

 

Application to the Central Benevolent Fund should be made on the appropriate form and as much information as possible, should be supplied [IN CONFIDENCE] to enable the committee to determine whether assistance can be given and the amount which can be made available.
