Peckham Council 117 was founded on the 11th of December 1925. The Peckham Council works closely with the Parishes of Peckham, Nunhead, East Dulwich, Hern Hill and Brockley, providing funds for various projects, with Council members being active participants in their parish. Presently membership stands at 46 Brothers of which 16 are active on a regular basis. The black & white picture shown some of our members and their families enjoying a social function some years ago. To-day, although we still have "formal" occasions, we tend to have more relaxed and informal functions and some of our members, especially our past Grand Knight, Joe Tarquini, can often be seen on the golf course.

Years ago, we were instrumental in starting what is known to-day as a Housing Association. Brothers formed a Charity and bought local houses for disadvantaged people (not necessarily Knights) to occupy and over a number of years this grew to be a substantial number of properties. About 10 years ago, a decision was made to pass these properties on or sell them and monies raised were passed to various Charities.
