Columba Magazine
The 'In House' Journal

Columba Magazine is one of the communication organs of the Knights of St Columba. Issued bi-monthly, to all KSC members, it contains regular features; the Supreme Knight's Column, Editorial, letters page, news from around the Councils and of course advertisements. Guest columnists are invited to contribute features on current Catholic social and moral teachings.

First published in June 1923; Columba was issued on a monthly basis as a 'journal to chronicle events and keep all the members in touch with the doings of the Order as a whole'. It contained individual Council reports, policy statements and religious features.

Columba was re-launched as a Family Magazine at one stage; "to provide people with the opportunity to read light literature that was not materialistic".

Columba was never intended to compete with other Catholic periodicals and therefore does not contain purely Catholic articles. Its aim has always been to appeal to Christians who share the Order's outlook on moral and social values.
